The Mayor’s announcement was the result of a 12 month cross-departmental review within TfL, building on the success that has been achieved to date, drawing on existing best-practice and new thinking to deliver the next stage of growth for walking and cycling in London. I fully support the results of this study, and believe that they set a clear direction for the future. I am committing Surface Transport / TfL to delivering walking and cycling as part of the public transport service we offer and to working with our partners and stakeholders across London to make the Mayor’s vision a reality.
