HUGE
thanks to Suzanne Mavoa for a very informative introduction to what communities
around the world are doing with google maps, blogs and social networking. We set up a google
map and worked on it - marking a route around mangere bridge - quite easy once
we got started!!! take a look Suzanne
has put the community mapping examples in her blog, and
more community mapping links that she continually adds to.
We are working on lobbying for an improvement to traffic signal phasing to make the walk between Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) campuses safer and more convenient for walking. Other projects that members of our group are involved with in the Manukau Area are the development of an Otara Heritage Trail and the Te Araroa national walkway in the Counties Manukau area.
