Tim Jones talks about threats to pedestrian safety

LSA President Tim Jones talked to Stuff about pedestrian safety this weekend. There have been five pedestrians killed in motor vehicle crashes so far this year.

From the article: "Tim Jones, president of walking advocacy group Living Streets Aotearoa, said every pedestrian death was a tragedy.

He said vehicle speed was the generally the biggest factor for pedestrian injuries and death: A person was four times more likely to be killed or seriously injured if hit by a car travelling at 50kph compared to 30kph."
