This site is dedicated to the little known French trail system, which is made up of an astounding 110,000 miles of off-road foot paths. The author has written a book, France on Foot, that explains in detail how to take a walking vacation in France on your own, and the book is, of course, covered here. But the main reason I maintain the site is to post current news about all the changes, resources and links I have learned about since the book was published.

Together with Scottish Enterprise Ayrshire and Scottish Natural Heritage these partners in the Ayrshire Paths initiative are each committed to developing and maintaining the pathways throughout Ayrshire for the benefit of tourists and residents.
