Walk Taupo

Walk Taupo was formed July 2006. It is made up of a group of volunteers with support from Taupo District Council, Sport Waikato, Public Health Organisation, Living Streets Aotearoa, Bike Taupo and Educating NZ Empowering Educators.  The Taupo Community needed representatives from their community to encourage and support walking as a recreational and daily activity.

The Walk Taupo committee meets as and when required. It has identified several needs and goals for the first year:

The Tongariro Taupo Conservancy has a great range of walking tracks from low level bush, river and lake shore walks to high level and remote experience ventures.
